I just got off the phone with Jeff Huss. He says they studied a 1901 00-21 Martin in great detail before designing the 00-SP and set the bracing exactly as it is on this 00-21. They also use very-very light bracing on a radius top guitar and built it as light as they can. They then use light guage strings and suggest that you only use light guage also.

He went on to say this is the only guitar in their line that they build this way. It is these combinations that give it the amazing power and volume.
